SHEET MUSIC
Most of the time, I arrange the song and write it down first before proceeding to a recording session. I guess it is way harder for me to play then write it down afterwards. I don't usually memorize songs that's why I have the music in front of me.
MUSIC STAND
It holds the sheet music.
GODIN LA PATRIE COLLECTION (w/ Quantum pick-ups)
I started using this around April 2013. It has built-in pick-ups. The sound is pretty neat and warm. I always love the cedar-rosewood combination.
ERGOPLAY TAPPERT
This usually elevates the guitar but without using the traditional footstool or raising my leg. I had some shoulder pain problems and this guitar support cured it somehow. A very cool tool.
G7th PERFORMANCE CAPO
One of my favorite tool. It actually dictates the feel and the tone of my arrangement as it changes the key of a song in a snap.
KODAK PLAYTOUCH
HD videocamera. One thing I like about this tool is that it has a wide angle lens. The video quality is decent and you could also connect an external microphone to it. I used it on one of my tutorials (Chords). It is always mounted on a Gorilla Pod.
M-AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO Audio Interface
I plug my guitar here then it connects to the laptop via usb. This audio interface disables the built-in soundcard of the computer and acts as the main soundcard. This unit also eliminates noise, hum and static sounds during recording.
M-AUDIO AV30 monitor speakers
It's so nice to hear what you play during recordings. I love the sound of these speakers. It feels like it always tells the truth, a very honest sound.
LAPTOP w/ Adobe Audition 6
I'm using a Macbook Pro laptop and I installed the Adobe Audition to it. Adobe Audition is my main recording software. I mix and edit all my sound files here. With regards to sound effects, I only use default presets of EQ, compressor and reverb.
***
During recording sessions, I basically do simultaneous recordings of Kodak Playtouch (video) and Adobe Audition (audio). Afterwards, I will syncronize the output files using iMovie. Then render the video in HD format and upload it to my Youtube channel.
Very basic. Basic is fun.
Fun is guitar.
